Welcome to SIHAM

The need to form a Society for Human and Animal Mycologist of India was felt a long time by the active research workers in the areas of Medical and Veterinary Mycology as there was no such forum of this nature in this country where the researchers could exchange their ideas and highlight the emerging significance of these branches in contemporary medicines. It was, however, at the time of XII ISHAM Congress at Adelaide, Australia in March 1994 that the idea of forming the Indian Society was discussed by the Indian participants. After returning from Adelaide, Dr S M Singh took the initiative and wrote to all the active members and sought their help in forming the society. The response was over- whelming. The society ÔSIHAMÕ is registered under the societies Registration Act of 1860 in the office of Registrar of societies Registration Act of 1860 in the office of Registrar of Societies, Govt. of Delhi on 17th October 1995.
